RS6?

Pics?

Will do when I'm next 'oop north'; I was there this weekend but he was away all weekend; working on the Jim Clark on saturday and competing in the Reivers on sunday...Until the engine went on his Pug.

Actually; can I just set my sights on having a 'fun car' that pwns my dad's 'fun car'?

That way I only have to beat a 205 GTi. ;)

Yeah I aspire to beating a 2.5 litre Nissan X trail :p

Of course it's only applicable if your dad's into his cars ;)

Can I try and beat my grandfathers' cars?

Ex-Semi-Works mini and semi-works mk1 Escort rally cars for toys (he rallied them back in t'day...private entries but he got factory support on bits and bobs; developmental heads et cetera), a blown Merc 560SEC and a SWB Landie with 4.5 RV8 for daily/groundwork/buggering about offroad.

So how come you didn't inherit your families obvious taste for half decent cars, penski? ;)

I inherited the desire for tinkering about with them, getting covered in filth and putting big engines in little cars; my dad owned a V8 Herald (kept the elliptical-sprung rear - scary!) that he had to flog when my sister was born.

My grandfather used to have a sit up and beg ford pop running a Ford V8. Gasser-style.

Anyway - you know how wide-ranging my tastes are so shush.

For me 100mph is fast enough, acceleration is what matters. My ideal car would be rwd, light (<750kg), around 200bhp/ton and not have that much grip.
