I nearly left last year to retrain as a radiographer, but a house purchase and new baby has put that on hold. I like my support role though and am waiting for the time when the County Council get out of the outsource contract so I can TUPE back to working for local government.
Radiographer sounds interesting - how do you go about retraining for that?
I'm a contractor at present, looking for a new contract for the New Year. And I hate it - I am sick to the back teeth of IT. if I can think of something I really would love doing and it will pay the mortgage I'll be sacking off IT.
I want something that I can work hard at and get immediate results without having to rely on dead-wood managers to make a decision a 3 year old could make.
I just need a hint for a suitable career, and I can do the rest. Trouble is I'm finding it hard to think of something.
