Humax Box - Hard Drive Partitions multiple formats?

Hi all

I've got a cheap Humax HD Freeview Box that has USB slots (front and back) and I'm thinking of getting a hard drive to record some programs.

I found a good 2.5 1TB external hd. I would like to partition it so that I can use it with the Humax box and with my PC so I can drop files onto it.

Would I have to partition and format it in different ways?

If anyone could help that would be great as I intend to buy the HD on the way home!

I am not sure you really need to partition it. Read the manual and see if the Humax even supports external hard drive storage as some dont (they only read files from it to show/play on the TV) I have the HDR-FOX T2 and that will read from the drive no problem but I dont really use any of the full features of the box becuase I have no need to atm. I am sure if you just format in NTFS both the PC and the Humax will be able to read it. Check out
