You could have made it difficult :p 24-70 with hood is second only to the 70-200 2.8 IS for obviousness :D

Nice lens though, although I have to admit I thought you already had one.

Narh, i once bought the Sigma 24-70 2.8 12 months ago, returned as it front focused.

Hired one for the wedding i did, loved it so much i had to get one, hiring it all the time makes no sense.

Nice one Raymond, although I thought you already had this, but I guess it was rented.

On a similar note.... MY 24-70L IS ARRIVING TOMORROW!!!!

My first L Lens :) :D :) :D

Next up:

135L
70-200L 2.8

Narh, that wedding was like a deadline, and I didn't quite had enough to get the 24-70 so i hired one. Now I own one :)

The 135L is indeed next, and then i'll be settled with my lenses...until the 85/1.2 itch gets too much lol

I was pretty set on the cheaper 85 1.8, but having used my 50mm on full frame for a week, I think I would want the extra reach of the 135 for portrait and candid stuff.

Unfortunately the 24-70 has completely cleaned me out! So it's going to be a while before I can get one!

YEah, i don't think the 50 is that much different from the 85 in focal length. Hence the Holy Trinity for primes are 35, 85 and 135. Besides, i still have my 30D, and the 50/1.4 on the 30D is pretty close to a 85/1.8 on FF. Both in focal length and DOF. It's not a perfect solution but it's something i can live with. :)

p.s. the 24-70 has cleaned me out too ! :(

The 50mm 1.8 is really awesome on my 5D, but I am finding the minimum focus distance a little bit annoying. Just a few extra inches closer would be nice.

I can't tell you how excited I am about getting the 24-70 tomorrow. I currently think the nifty fifty on the 5D is incredible, I can't believe the sharpness I am getting from my images, so God knows how I'll feel once I try a few L's out!!

The 5D was definitely a good step up from the 400D :)

Looking forward to seeing some shots from your brick :)

i also just managed to pick up a brick from a mate at a bargain price.

:)

just need the weekend now to go out and test it

I loved your email to me.

"I don't want to tell you the price I got it for as I bought it from a mate", shortly followed by the price you got it for in brackets :p
Really made me laugh! Bargain price though. It made me cry a little.

I am eagerly awaiting the delivery to my desk at work. My camera is with me so I'll be busting out a few test shots in the office :)
