Seriously, if your looking for just pure gaming the XBOX 360 is probably the better choice.
But, a AMD 64 3000+, AsRock Dual SATA 2 and a 7600GT/X800GTO would cost around £180-250. That would give you a nice upgrade, but not as much as a xbox 360 when playing oblivion.
