Hi,

Planning on upgrading my PC (it's atleast 7 years old now), mainly for gaming (battleground, battlefield).

Currently looking at getting the following:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/defc...hz-overclocked-kabylake-bundle-bu-08q-og.html

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/zota...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-105-zt.html

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sams...olid-state-drive-mz-75e500b-eu-hd-192-sa.html

Only thing I don't need is windows and a PSU.

Recommendations on a good basic case with decent air flow?
What are some better bang for your buck components instead of the ones in the bundle? Not sure if the i5 / mobo combo selected there are OTT.

Thanks!

If you want ASRock , cheaper and better 6 core non K which still performs better then 4 core old i5 even with overclock

Hi

The i5 7600K is pretty much obsolete now the CoffeeLake is out. The i3 8350K below is now 4 core/4 thread same as the i5. I would aim for 16GB Ram though myself. Any 3000MHz or above will be fine for CoffeeLake.

Total: £404.46
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Another option is to go with a Ryzen R5 1600 6 core/12 thread build.

Slightly more expensive but you get a 6 core cpu and also 3 free games which you can claim on Asus website (See link below).

This same R5 1600/B350-F bundle is cheaper, but for some reason it doesn't mention the free games. Might be worth asking ocuk customer service as it would save you another £20.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £277.84
(includes shipping: £9.90)

Same with the Ram. A 3000MHz or above should be fine although Ryzen can be a bit picky with some Ram.

Only with the retail version. The oem version doesn't include one.

Out of stock though.

Sorry my bad - speaking of which, found out that you pump volts through a 8400 and you hit 100c easily- can see they didn't make the cut for 8600k
Could be another reason why low Key numbers at the start - binning process
