    Hello,

I have just installed WinXP (SP2) onto an ASUS P4C800-E deluxe. The only thing that is sticking out in device manager is the LAN and onboard audio, but I noticed on the ASUS installation CD the first option is for INTEL Chipset Update Program. .

    Is this needed?

When I had the P4C800 I did install an Intel chipset driver.

I never use the one's of the CD though and I got it directly from the Intel site.

You only need the Asus CD for the 2 devices you mention as they are not part of the pre-installed XP hardware list. Also, check on the Asus website as Im sure when I last built with this mobo a few months back they had updated drivers for their ocing & hardware doctor utils.
