iPhone 8 plus - failed NFC chip

It now seems to be functioning normally again - this is very strange. Is it possible for the case or something else (wireless interference?) to be impacting NFC?

Not ideal at all. It works, but inconsistently at best. The proximity sensor isn't working properly either (screen doesn't dim when you hold the phone up to your ear on a call) and the lightning port is a bit dodgy.

Not impressed. I've complained to the insurance company so will see what they say. At this point I'm considering making-do with this one until the 12 comes out, selling this 8 plus and binning the insurance.

Proximity sensor not working is a known issue with third party displays on 8 series phones, as well as no True Tone
Is it ?
We've never had an issue with the proximity.
Although tru-tone info has to be taken from the original screen or the phone and programmed in to the chip on the new screen, but thats the same on all iphones from 8 onwards
