hey guys im just wondering if this score is normal for my system

    3700 sandy
    1 gig ddr400 cheap ram
    x800gto agp 256
    dual vsta 939 board

just got 4277 3d marks on 3dmark 05 all my components are at stock settings so is the score reasonable for that set up? also if i overclocked my cpu would it affect the result to a decent amount?

Bit low tbh ( might be wrong, but i think the x800 series do around 6000 3dmarks...), getting 5200ish with a 6800GS, pentium d @ 3.9 ghz, same with my old p4 @ 4.1 ghz...

My gfx card was at stock btw...

Ocing cpu will definatly help, but not by a massive ammount, dont expect too much...

it isnt a 16 pipeline one btw its a powercolor one with 12 pipelines and the remaining 4 ones are laser locked :S

was looking into soft modding the card then found out the other 4 pipelines were laser locked and ive a dodgy core for attempting it :(

score more normal now for a 12 pipeline card?

my dads system is basically the same as mine an his 7900gs gets about 7k or 8k :S

i beleive i used to get high 5k or just scraped 6k but what would cause my 3dmarks to drop a k or 2?

Run a 3dmark06 and you can compare against similar systems. Granted, these'll be tweaked machines, but should give you a rough estimate to what you should be aiming for.
