    Hello All,

I am new here, and also a noobie when it comes to online gaming. I recently played some games around a friends house on his spare computer. The game is called Counterstrike GO or CSGO. I really enjoyed it, so I've purchased a monitor and a gaming computer from Overclockers to get set up.

    This is my build:

Monitor: MSI OPTIX MAG272 27" 1920x1080 VA FreeSync 165Hz 1ms Widescreen LED Gaming Monitor
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400 Air Midi Tower DRGB Case - Black
CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6GHz (Coffee Lake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - Retail
    RAM: Team Group Vulcan Z T-Force 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey
    Harddrive: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB M.2 2280 PCI-e 3.0 x4 NVMe Solid State Drive
Software: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Advanced - Systems
Graphics Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super Ventus XS OC 8192MB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card

As I said I would like to play CSGO on this machine. Does anyone have advice on how I can achieve 300-400fps on this setup? My friend's machine was giving him 300fps and it looked really nice.

Also the monitor, what type of cable does this need to attach to the graphics card?

    Any advice is much appreciated.

Okay thanks OldKitMan, do you know what cable I will need to attach the monitor and the graphics card? To get the 165hz ?

It may say 300fps - 400fps but with a 165Hz monitor you will actually get 165 fps.

You seriously bought that just for csgo?! :o Just install it and fire away as the game can be ran on pretty much anything.

For csgo?? Dang! I thought you would be playing squad or pubg which is much more work involved. CSGO works flawlessly on my old gt630m and i5 2440.

This is Massive overkill just for csgo. But hey it will sort you out for any other games later down the line. CSGO doesn't need anymore than 60fps anymore is just pointless!

Monitor should come with some cable, which is likely DisplayPort.
That's also needed for being able to use variable refresh rate feature.
Though not that there's any need for that when PC can easily manage 165fps half sleep.

Half cheaper PC would have been already overkill for ancient CSGO.
Also that monitor is really expensive for low medieval resolution.
2560x1440 monitor would have been only £30 more.

My work laptop with onboard graphics only runs csgo smooth as butter.

Nice spec though... You'll enjoy that!

    Hello all,

My computer which is the following spec (which arrived from OcUk today - new purchase built by OcUk):

    Your selected configuration:
Phanteks Eclipse P400 Air Midi Tower DRGB Case - Black
Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6GHz (Coffee Lake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - Retail

    Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB M.2 2280 PCI-e 3.0 x4 NVMe Solid State Drive
Microsoft Windows 10 Home Advanced - Systems
**Special Offer** Bullguard Internet Security - Anti-Virus and Security - 1 Year 3 PC
MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super Ventus XS OC 8192MB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card

keeps freezing in CS:GO - it's happened 5 times now in the past 4 hours. The last 3 times it's frozen has been consecutively after I have entered the game, the first two times were about 2 hours ago.

I updated the nVidia graphics drivers to the latest ones when I received the PC. The pc performs amazingly, but it keeps crashing. Any ideas what's happening?

I have checked the error log, here are some screenshots:

Is it just CS GO or does it do it in other games/benchmarks too?

Mine keeps crashing on anything 3D at the moment. Unsure what it is but my guess is its windows 2004 messing up a driver. Here's my crash report

I only play CSGO, so haven't tried it on other games. I've followed a guide on CS:GO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRQ

Going to see if this has helped. Will report back shortly to update.

Could be a number of things, you need to run some stability stress tests and try narrowing it down.
I would probably start by running a dozen 2gb instances of memtest86 over a few hours and see if it reports any errors or locks up.

What is the psu ? I had to renew my old psu to fix Kernel error. I would certainly phone them and ask for help

Regardless of what you choose to play, I'd get some other games / benchmarks downloaded & ran to see if you can replicate the issue outside CSGO although I can't see that being too taxing, especially with the combo of your GPU & CPU, way more than enough imo.

I'd go and ask the company that built it on the appropriate forum.
