Just wondering if anyone has this drive, what they think of it and what drive it uses.

I've got one of the FA Porsche designed USB2 ones. It's a good drive, quiet, quick enough for backups etc. Can't complain so far.

According to device manager it's a Maxtor drive inside it.

Honestly Raikiri, just build one yourself unless you can guarantee a Seagate. Lucky wush tbh, looks like the latest batch could be Seagate drives but then you still only have 1 year warranty as opposed to 5 if you built it yourself.

the warenty is two years on the lacie drives.... sorry to be picky.

most manufactorers do offer 5 years on drives, but if you go for external youve got to rember that the warrenty also covers power supply , bridge chipsets etc as well as the drive its self

Has anyone found a way to get this drive to spin down? It seems to be going at full whack constantly, even when the computer is shut down.
