Laptop HDMI Port Help?

My laptop has a HDMI port but I'm almost certain my laptop is not HD.

Does it mean that I can stream HD content online and connect my laptop to a HD Tv to watch it. So it just turns the laptop into a HD player?

HDMI is just a way of connecting to an external display via a digital connection, nothing more. Your laptop may very well be able to playback HD content depending on it's spec but having HDMI doesn't mean that it becomes a HD player
