Laptops

Can anyone recomend a good laptop? My desktop is just taking up too much room (or so the wife recons). I have no idea when it comes to laptops... It'll be used for the usual and needs to cope with gaming but not extreme high end gaming! Not sure what I wanna spend... say, <£1000?

Any advice would be great!!!
