RS have the 48" in two variants, a 50hz model, 48A16LA, with an older processor and the all singing C1 version. Don't personally see the point of going for the 50hz one when it's only £100 cheaper.

The A1 series seems to be a seriously cut down budget option, so it wouldn't surprise me
Nothing wrong with the DV on my AF9 when I had it, have a look at D-nice’s stuff on over on AVS, the 10% doesn’t tell the whole story the specular highlights are over 1000nits

If you’re gaming then the LG’s are still the ones to get.
No disagreement there TBH, if your a massive gamer then the LG is the TV to get without a doubt, but if you spend more time watching TV/movies the Sony or Panasonic is the way to go

maybe it's a misconception that bfi or frame-interpolation ,available with 100hz, enhances movies/tv
I had thought that too, but, following other samsung thread he comments favourably on their q90 tv image processing ,
so if you never watch tv in the dark ... (and even then you are supposed /recommended to use a backlight)

The problem with almost every Samsung is the dirty screen effect, which can pull you out of the viewing experience almost immediately
Yeah they doing budget ones this year with no hdmi 2.1 as well but should be 60hz in this country. Reckon it might catch a few people off guard these ones, but talks of them being below £1000 from launch.

Am I going to regret not buying the C16. I can't see me ever needing ot using WISA. I think i'll get a C14 or C15. It will be wall mounted so the colour of the stand isn't going to be a cornern.
the 42" pricing and specs are still pending then .. that's got to better as a monitor too, with a good PPI.
If you use an avr maybe wisa's not interesting, but if not, having lossless sound to 2.0/2.1 dum speakers would be interesting to my folks,
better than a soundbar with limited speaker size/location.

C1 compare to last year CX model not a lot of new features had been added to this new OLED this time and it's not worth upgrade for only 4 features more then last year model IMO
So the choice is really CX vs G1 at 55 inch. I'm having a tough time deciding. G1 is 2x the price pretty much.

Perhaps break down that decision - 2020 vs 2021, and C vs G. What's driving the choice of G? Will you miss features with a 2021 model, e. g. player apps?
Well G1 is the new Evo panel. C1 is the same/pretty much the same as last year's CX. No feature there to justify price difference of C1 over CX but with G1 you get the new panel in the flagship OLEDs in 2021. So a choice between CX vs G1 I suppose.

Good logic. So then I think that leads you to "is the new panel worth the extra cash"?
Now I'm no cinemaphile but the CX panel is stunning. So I guess it depends if it needs to be the very very best for you. Maybe frame it in the light of "Will you keep this for 5-10 years, or will you be upgrading in 2 years anyway when better stuff comes out"?
