Death Star or Mount Doom, it depends on the day.
Recently purchased the above TV and Sound bar and TV combo that's on sale atm.

Its been a while since I have got a new TV.

So, the general gist I get when reading into this is that HDMI leads are a big con???

Obviously, I am not the type of person to spend £1000000 on a HDMI lead, but, what is the general opinion. I believe I will need HDMI 2.1 now?

Only really ps5, Xbox and new av receivers can take advantage of 2.1 atm. Basically will do 4k at 120hz or 8k at 60hz. So if you have none of that just use current hdmi cables if you have any, should be fine for now as they will be 18gbps where as 2.1 ones are 48gbps.

Ok, tar, so you I need a longer cable around 5m. So just a bog standard 5m cable will do? I don't need a gold plated one or anything like that. Obviously I want the best picture I can get.

If you want to 'future proof' for the HDMI 2.1 features of your TV, get a cable that is Ultra High Speed certified, to ensure the cable can deliver the required bandwidth.

I have both my Series X and PS5 connected using uGreen cables from Amazon. They are not certified but work perfect at 48gbps and are a decent price and build.

If you're going for long runs I believe fibre over hi is best, however they aren't cheap. I don't think hdmi is rated for longer than 5m at 4k 120hz, or at least what I've heard people's responses.
