What card is in the client?

I had a problem with a lappy using a Intel 2200Bg minipci nic. In short I turned all the power saving off for the card in device manager and it dropped the ping to a stable 2ms.

Power saving is disabled on the card. I've tried using a linksys pci card and a Buffalo 54g wireless card.

Last night I was having a bit of a play...

Moved my pc and router in to the same room, cm's away from each other. Tried playing the game, and I timed out.

Hard wired in to the number 1 slot, connected. Timed out.

Went straight to the modem and it timed out.

I noticed that the cable light was flashing, indicating the cable modem had reset itself. Why would this be? Could this be something to do with the amount of 'connections'?

I turned off my cable modem last night, and I wont turn it back on until about 5.30pm this afternoon. Hopefully this will give me a new IP address.

What should my next steps be?
