Apparently the delay, he says, has mainly been in getting HDR and Gsync to play together.

For me, the most interesting tidbit was that above 98 Hz you start to lose features. That's a real negative for me.

It’s not aimed at colour critical work or graphics professionals where you’d have the necessary hardware and workflow to make use of 10-bit colour depth. You’re never going to see any difference in practice with it being “only” 8-bit +FRC, especially in it’s intended gaming uses

The high cost is because of the 4K @144Hz Panel, need for DisplayPort 1.4, Gsync module and most importantly because of the very complex and expensive (currently) FALD backlight with operation for gaming at VRR which was the cause of a lot of the delays
