Little tutorial requested

Could anyone be so kind as to briefly explain what needs to be done to this image so that I can make all of the white part transparent and put a photo inside it?

You can probably get away with just using the magic eraser tool on it. Failing that, just erase the background by either using the pen tool to trace the outline, or just erase it with an eraser.

Edit: MET worked fine. Took all of 7 seconds. If you want it done better, you'll need to trace the edges.
