Looking for monitor advice

Currently i use a 24" dell monitor with a native res of 2560x1440 but it only has a refresh of 60hz now i am looking to upgrade to a 27" (space limited cannot go bigger) and would like to know if i should get something with a higher refresh rate ie 144 or would a 4k display be better or just as good?

i play 2 games dayz and elite dangerous rest of the time is youtube and the net, i also have an amd rx5700xt graphics card

any advice or suggestions welcome
