Looking for the best cooling solution

I just bought the new 8700k and is looking to overclock it. My current case is corsair 400q and im not looking to upgrade it if possible. The airflow should be good enough right?. My question now is, what should i do for cpu cooling? My target for overclocking is around 4.9 ghz.

Atm, im leaing towards getting noctua NH-D15(I know there a cheaper options for air coolers, but this is what im going for), and 1 or 2 new coolers to the case. Should i consider going for liquid cooling? I dont wanna mess with custom cooling solutions. So should I choose something like H115i, H150i or x62 over the d15? And are these solutions even a good choice?

Cheers

To be honest you've gone for a 400Q so you want quiet? The D15 would be my choice, great cooler that could easily get your cpu to 4.9 and still have a quiet fan keeping it all under control. Ive no experience of AIO coolers so someone else will be of more help but ive seen on reviews and owners comments that pump/fan noise can be an issue.

Your 400Q case fans are almost worthless .. I consider them complete garbage. A couple good 140mm front intakes will make a world of difference in case airflow. As already said, Arctic F series are quite good at very low prices. Not the best, but best low cost fan.

You could get a lower cost CPU cooler that performs within 3-4c of D15 and use the savings to get some good case fans. A couple of the best are Thermalright TRUE Spirt 140 Power and Macho HR-02, but OcUK do not sell them. OcUK have PH-TC14PE for £59.99 and it's about same cooling as D15 .. maybe NH-U14S (can be had at lower price elsewhere) or Megahalems,

the unit and fan will clear the ram just fine, whats the issue if having to raise the fan to go over the ram- might not allow your case panel to close.

easy solution, mount the first fan behind the right heatsink column- between the two columns and then the last fan at the back of the left (last) column - so both fans are pulling through the Heatsink towers . should allow you to see our ram

might have to get rid of the rear exit fan though

B CODE
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £158.44 (includes shipping: £10.50)

i know the bequiet can sit above corsair dominator units and Cryorig has the unit offset back not to clash with ram

both 135/140mm units, dual fans and 200w+ TDP
