"Low profile" X600 256m, pci-e, any good?

A mate mine has a very shallow pc case, "ultra slim" I think its called. He wants a reasonable vidcard for it as he's using the onboard video atm, and quite frankly, its dreadful, lol. I've found I can get a X600 256m, low profile, pci-e card and as its the only one I can find, I'm wondering if its any good for playing games at 1024 x 768, medium settings, etc.
Its gonna be used with a 3.0ghz P4 lga775, 768m pc3200 memory. Any other suggestions welcome, but he won't replace the case under any circumstances as it fits perfectly in the unit he has, and its soooo... quiet.

How much? a low profile 6600 would be faster (£70ish)

I've seen one for £39 inc vat, plus delivery. I know for a fact a 6600 would be better, but where from. Obviously you can't say here.
