Just dropped in a 2080 Ti (£430 after putting in fresh pads for the stock cooler, was previously watercooled by owner) into my system connected to the TV. Hopefully able to push decent framerates at 4K.

Haven't overclocked it yet as I need to make sure the card is working fine first. The 5700 XT above is heavily overclocked (for a 1440p system). The +33% will likely be more like +50% once overclocked. Will be interesting to see if the gap is wider with Timespy Extreme.
I reckon I made the right choice not waiting for the 3070 and whatever AMD end up releasing.
Looks like a lot of the 2080ti's on ebay have sold for around £650 today

Just seen that an Asus 2080ti one sold for £900 yesterdayjust sold my 2080ti for £662 so I guess another 100 for the 3080 rtx not a bad upgrade cost. some jammy sod sold for over 700 the other day on the bay but hey i got better than those panic buyers
A 2080ti in the hand is worth two 3080s in the bush.
Glad I didn't panic sell my 2080ti now just for a few extra fps.
I did post a couple of weeks ago stating people selling their 2080tis are silly and they're doing it at the card's lowest price point for at least a couple of months.
i been keeping eye on ebay prices abd who hell is paying these prices, averaging 550 to 650 used, i just dont get it, i know rtx 3080 cant be bought anywhere, but cant ppl wait for stock? not as if its a couple of bids here and there but looks like they fighting over them
GPU pricing always seems way too high on there. I've been looking at 1650, 1660 and 2060 type cards and often they go for within £20-50 of the cheapest new.Looks like a lot of the 2080ti's on ebay have sold for around £650 today
guess that explains itPeople who need the VRAM. IE, people not gaming. The same people who want to run multiples of them for business use.
Remember, it still has more VRAM than the 3080. So if you are doing anything that chows down on VRAM it will still be better at certain things. Plus you can get them, which is always a bonus like.
