MacBook keyboard - Has it been improved?

My 2016 MacBook keyboard is playing up again - I had it changed for an intermittent fault back in February last year and now the backspace key isn't working if I hit it in certain places.

I'm booked in tomorrow and I expect the "Top Case with Keyboard, Space Gray, British" to be replaced again but I wonder if anyone with insider knowledge knows whether the design has been changed or whether I'll just get exactly the same style keyboard again?

It’s definitely improved, the crappy butterfly keyboard is gone in my 2020 Air.

I had the entire bottom of my work 2016 Pro replaced because the keys started to stick. Touch wood it hasn’t done it since but it’s still not nice to use imo.

I have no problem with how the butterfly keyboard feels, all I care about is that when I type on it, the keys all work.

The original keyboard lasted two years and two months but the replacement they put in has only lasted eighteen months and that's supposed to be a better design.
