Went to a Maccie D's in Ordsall, Salford.

Thought it'd be quick and cheap, £5.30 later, the woman looked like she wanted to kill herself, not very helpful AT ALL!

Meal was incredibly tiny for that price, was expecting to pay about £3, I could probably have got away without paying since she never checked the till!

You were expecitng to pay £3 for a McDonalds meal?

Had you just stepped out of 1998 or something?

LOL. :D

In 1998 they were £2.79. I remember it because I was at Uni and was working at a City Centre Argos at the time. I used to go to Maccy D's for lunch every now and then and I remember that price for any meal (this was before they did special Taste of New Yorker burgers with fancy buns and such guff).

It may be the worst thing you can eat health wise, but you can't beat a double cheeseburger & large fries for £2.88.

The only problem is it may taste nice but it's 900 calories and you are starving a couple of hours later!

A Big Mac meal in the US is $5.69 (or £3.72), in the UK the same meal is £4.19.

So it's not THAT much cheaper.

I thought he was going down the Pulp Fiction road.

Vincent: All right. Well, you can walk into a movie theater in Amsterdam and buy a beer. And I don't mean just like in no paper cup; I'm talking about a glass of beer. And in Paris, you can buy a beer at McDonald's. And you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese?
Vincent: Nah, man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the *WOAH!* a Quarter Pounder is.
Jules: What do they call it?
Vincent: They call it a "Royale with Cheese."
Jules: "Royale with Cheese."
Vincent: That's right.
Jules: What do they call a Big Mac?
Vincent: A Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it "Le Big Mac."
Jules: [in mock French accent] "Le Big Mac." [laughs] What do they call a Whopper?
Vincent: I don't know, I didn't go in a Burger King.
