MCDBA Distance learning?

My local college provide nothing in they way of part time IT courses and I am looking to do the MCDBA from Microsoft via home learning. Any one got any ideas of the best company to go with? or the best way to go about it?

Can you not get a book and free trial SQL Server software and then go through it at your own pace? Can't check Amazon or MS Press at the mo but I imagine there is some certification material for the MCDBA.

There are plenty of books and material but i was looking for someone that has done the exams in the cheepest way possible.
