    Hi All

I now have a nice new Media Centre working perfectly after a few issues :p

(AMD 3200+, two tuner cards, 1 gig ram)

I also have my main computer which also has the media centre operating system installed.

Question is, can I now use my upstairs computer as a media centre extender?? aka watch TV on my computer?

    Any help would be good,

    Cheers

Basically you can't use PC's as extenders.

What you can do is share out the content from the MCE to the other machines but you can't play live tv.

Not sure how far the development has gone but I've tinkered with this in the past:-

    'tis true. And irritating.

MS were rumoured to be working on a 'software extender', codenamed Softsled (i.e. to turn a PC into an extender). Never happened though.

You can use a tablet PC as an extender apparently but it hasn't been released for XP, when Vista comes out I think this may support it.
