Rampage III/980X/Corsair 800D

Many thanks again to andi, I contacted Patriot and they suggested their PV236G2000LLK-tri channel (3x2.048) 8-8-8-24. for the X58 board.

My other choice at this point is Corsair Dominator GT CMG6GX3M3A1600C7 -Tri channel (3x2) 7-7-7-21 and dump the fans.

The price for both high quality memory are within 12 pounds sterling of each other - it must be those fans.

This is my first experience with this new i7 type memory and I wish to not get in over my head. I am not planning to go beyond 1.65v. Will both these memorys be equally easy for a newbie to set up in the Bios?

What issues if any will I encounter between 1600 vs 2000 and does it matter?

Any other high quality memory I should be looking to?

The biggest single difference is that you can run 1600 either by OCing the CPU AND memory controller via the BClock or by OCing only the memory controller using a higher memory divider. At 2000, you must run a higher than stock BClock to get that speed. A 980 should do either but of course it's not guaranteed.
