Thread should probably have a spoiler warning...
Saw it last night.
All in all I thought it was a good thing, it was VERY much like Alias but I was expecting that being it was directed by the same director (JJ Abrahms), if you're a fan of Alias you'd have noticed it was basically a 2hr episode of Alias with different characters, Simon Pegg's character was exactly like Marshall, they even used the same codenames (Phoenix, Outrigger).
I thought the action sequences were great, when he swings between the 2 buildings I was on the edge of my seat throughout
I thought there was basically no plot though.
The Jap(ish) lass who blew up the Lamborgini was nice
I think Tom Cruise is a great actor and really works well in thriller movies/high tension stuff, but he's just so,
so cheesy in anything that doesn't require him to make his face look like he's doing a big one on the toilet. For instance at the end of the film when they were back at the HQ and his wife was giggling with all his friends, it was so painfully cheesy. They should have ended the film in Shanghai tbh.
I enjoyed it though
