I am not really up to speed on raid set ups so please be gentle!-i have a lot of photos and was wondering if i set up a mirror array to put them on and one of the drives died-would i just be able to remove the duff drive and my data would be safe on the other? I assume i would have to remove the array in the bios for it to work???
I just need simple explanations of how it operates please as everything i have read so far leaves me scratching my head:rolleyes:

Yes, with a mirrored raid (Raid 1) you just remove the faulty drive and replace it. The good drive then becomes your primary drive with all your data intact and rebuilds the new replacement drive.

But always backup your data to a USB drive or similar, never rely on a raid configuration keeping your precious photos safe.
