Mixing drives

    Anyone think there will be much difference between the older maxtors and the new SATA2 ones for raid purposes? :)

    Speed and reliability I suppose. :)

    Newer is usually better.

    Depends what you mean by older? SATAI to SATAII??

    Speed probably not much - you'd hope they'd be a bit quieter by now tho.

    Samsung Spinpoint is the way forward IMHO.

    [EDIT] Ahha, sorry i missed the title mixing with the subject. Mixing the two might not be the greatest idea - they will perform differently for sure. You'll limit yourself to the slower speed [/EDIT]
