    Evening chaps

Car in question is 55 plate mondeo tdci 115.

When i put the boot down and the turbo starts to pick up, about 1800rpm i get a whoosh kind of noise, like the noise of leaves on trees in the wind? Goes away if i take foot off the gas, and gets louder as the revs go up. Clutch down and the noise goes away.

No smoke from the exhaust and a slight lack of boost.

    Any ideas?

Booked into the garage tomowrrow, but like to go in with an idea of the problem and possible cost?

Mot and full service was carried out 2 weeks ago. And ever since this the car cranks 3/4 times till it starts, wont just start straight away like before it had the mot and service??

    Cheers.

Sticking EGR valve or split vacuum pipe?

Either can apparently make it more difficult to start as well.

Cheers guys, video sounds like the noise i have. Any damage i could have caused driving all week with it like this? Is it a pretty simple repair if it is just a hose or more complex?

Had mine go twice and driven loads of miles without issue. It's a simple hose swap but I don't think anyone makes a pattern part so expect to be stung about £60 for the genuine Ford thing. Sadly the older your car gets the less time they last something to do with worn engine mounts!

Had it happen on my old X Type, Simple fix with a hose from ebay.

Don't pay a garage to do it.

Cheers chaps! Was a split hose, forgot to ask which one! Garage must have had hoses they cut to size? Took him 20mins and cost £20! Happy days.
