This is just a silly bit of nonsense really.
But I recently got one of my old Systems back, as it has been murdered and the board is a SAPHIRE PUREBLACK X58.
Now, I do have another x58 Mobo and thats the Flaming Blade x58 and sure, they are both half decent setups for their age, and the Flaming Blade has a Zeon 2.4 Hex Core I7 and the Saphire has the i7-970
But the RAM is 6x8GB DDR3 and so thats 48GB thats now sat doing nothing. ( Not true, 2 have gone into the Flaming blade, 2 into my old Linux Test Cube and one is spare )
But...
I like the idea of plopping it back into a board so I can use the full 48GB Again - Utterly stupid as my 2 main PCs have 32GB and they both have a 16GB RAM disk, thats how useless even 32GB is to me
I have had a peek at some boards, but nothing seems to take my fancy as I am not willing to pay so much over the odds for a dead unsupported board anymore when I can sped the same amount and get a vastly supperior bundle.
So, does anyone know what I could be looking for, or shall I just acceopt the loss and grow up?
