Well my PSU has gone and fried my mobo. Its was an Asus P5K ws pro. It needs replacing, I want to upgrade the mobo to something better keeping the rest of the components the same. If I stick with Asus will I have a problem installing the hdd with the OS as the board will need different chipset drivers?

Hello, I had the exact same problem as you. The motherboard that stopped working for me was an ASUS P5K Deluxe.

I ended up getting a Gigabyte EP45-UD3R, it is heaps better (overclocks far better, runs cooler, and can be RMA-ed in UK if there are problems). Windows loaded up OK but the mouse/keyboard wouldnt work, I fixed this by inserting the Windows CD and repairing my installation - after that everything worked fine.
