Also isn't there something about Dorna claiming the MotoGP grid is full so Suzuki will have to come to some agreement with another team to get slots on the grid..... Someone needs a slap at Dorna seriously, viewings are going to nosedive now its going to be on BT, and half the grid full of slow CRT's rather than new factory bikes...

That just about sums it up, what the hell are dorna playing at, right now you got 4 factory bikes and 2 manufacturers that can realistically win anything and a grid filled up with semi-production bikes to make up half the grid, its an absolute disaster and if its true they have told Suzuki the grid is full, well, that is just incredible to come out with such a ridiculous statement as that! CRT's are hopeless in this class and no one even cares where they finish.

in practice today Nicky Hayden has beaten Catalunya top speed record on Desmosedici GP13 with 341.4 km/h, so nothing wrong with the speed it just needs to get round the corners.

Cals lap was great, but somewhat overshadowed by Pedrosa being a full .6 of a second faster than everyone.

He'll probably start on the hard tyre and ride off into the distance. Yamaha are likely to go for the soft.

just read this on Toby Moodys twitter
"5 races, 6 quals in and HRC still on two engines used. Yamaha on four. One w/drawn for each. 33% into a season and Yam used 80% of engines."

this year there only aloud 5 engines for the year, not looking good for yamaha

If it's the same as F1 then they can get the old engines out again—it's not a case of once the engine has been replaced it cannot be used again.

In F1 they tend to use fresh engines for the faster tracks, especially Monza and Spa. There's nothing to stop them using an engine in Melbourne then getting it back out again for Hungary. It's just a case of prioritising the tracks for that miniscule extra power you get from a fresh engine.

Without looking it up, I'd imagine MotoGP rules are similar.

It's not like the Yamaha engines have been blowing up left, right and centre, so they'll just be managing the engine usage - if they have indeed used 8 engines, then each engine so far will have sod all mileage on it.

I'm fairly sure it would have been planned out months back, each team working out how best to map out the season.

I`d say no because, you don't give them 5 engines at the start and they lock them, so if they find a fault or an upgrade they can do it for there remaining engines, now they having used 4 engines they can only modify the remaining one which limits them.
