Is he using an air cylinder or something to change gear with a trigger on the stearing wheel?

Yeah, will be a pneumatic paddle shifter, you can see the normal lever moving weith each shift. Must be a weirdo leftie using the left button to shift up.

That thing will fly if he can launch it without aiming for the moon or the wall :D

Yea, CO2 ram on the shifter as well as a load cell and a barrel position on the gearbox means the ECU takes care of pretty much everything.

It aims a lot less for the moon than it used to, still needs to suspension tweaks to stop it turning right though.

Jheez that Fiesta is insane! What monster does it have under the bonnet?

E

Just checked the link, EJ20! Sounds great!

Indeed, its not under the bonnet though

Not really a show, but more a lets hear your motors, video of the Supersprint Race on the M5:

I absolutely love the tone of the exhaust and under moderate accelerate in the rev range you use 90% of the time the sound is lovely, it has a beautiful exhaust note and though loud, its not LOUD or obnoxious but this is just catback. My primary/secondary cats are still in place as are all the resonators. I am toying with idea of maybe removing secondary cats or the resonator, just need to research which will maybe add more scream at top end, but at the sametime this setup is totally drone free and in the cabin with the windows up when cruising it is every so slightly louder than stock but most people would not notice, windows down or on power and its a bid difference. :)

Imagine the time he'd get if he could actually launch a car off the line :D

What do you mean?

You can sit on a green light for 20 seconds if you want for non-competitive racing. Timing doesn't start until you break the timing beams which need a inch or two of forward movement

Yep, and if he had a better launch, and didn't bog down, or have to correct steering, he'd have a better time.

Easier said than done, all of those things are considerable amounts of time and money to get right.

Launching something with a clutch consistently is very difficult with the changes in track conditions throughout a day

Didn't realise you worked with Chris Todd. I remember when that was running supercharged + turbocharged cvh motor up front
Haha, yea.

Both him and the car are well known
