MSI K8N sli platinum with on board creative soundblaster 24
Sound has been working fine for 3 months. Now after the pc's been off for a while there's no system, startup or any other sound after start up (I just get the Bios beep).
If I reboot several times all sounds will then work fine and work every time on subsequent reboots. Only seems to fail after the pc's been off for any length of time. When there is no sound, I-Tunes or Windows media player etc. will NOT run any sound files or any online radio stations etc so it's not like it's actually playing in the background and not being heard. That rules out faulty connections I guess. I've replaced the soundblaster drivers and looked through all the obvious settings etc.
I would appreciate your help
