Just because they're 15 doesn't mean they're not capable of manipulating and blackmailing adults. Children do it all the time. In fact, some children kill other children. So, really, it's not that hard to believe.

Not quite, she's broken two laws, underage sex and abuse of a position of trust (which stops teachers having affairs with pupils they are in a position of trust/power over who is under the age of 18).

That's my point exactly, but because it's a woman and it's based around the "emotion of love", then she's let off lightly.
