The MY CLOUD EX2 ULTRA 2-BAY NAS costs £393 populated with 8TB, or £140 without hard disks. Adding 2x4TB green seagate drives would make it £320 total. I am not sure what drives are in the populated version, but is it worth the difference?
I'd use my NAS for backups and for media (map the drive on my PC to stream with Kodi/VLC).
Edit: I just realised it comes with WD Reds (specific for NAS). Even with these slightly more expensive drives, if you buy them separately, the total is £360. Is there any point on buying the populated version?
