Absolutely superb builds!!

Where can we buy pico power supplies in the uK? does OCuK stock them or can it get hold of them at all?

Also, what cooling options are preferred? I note that all the passive cooling options are huge, and so we're still stuck with a fan in most cases :(

How does your system cope with an 8800 card, and how do you manage to power it on the pico psu?

Inspirational indeed, makes you realise what you can do with very little space and power (watts not grunt) really.

My I5 system is mATX based at the moment, but when the new ITX S1156 boards launch I intend to turn my machine into an mITX setup, the only issue I have is the GTX260 ...I have a Sugo SG05 that I have a E6600/Zotac in right now running as my media machine and server, but I'm not sure the 300w psu would handle an I5 under load and a GTX260 ...dunno, could be a bit too close for comfort.

I hope that when the new boards launch, there will be some more powerful mini psu's and also some new mITX cases aswell. I think 2010 is going to be an interesting year for miniaturised power :)

I would think that the problem would lie not in finding the psu to drive it, after all you could get a 1U psu which is still very small, but in finding the extra branch to power the GPU per se.

sev. The 8800 was not for the builds listed. No pico PSU could power it.
You can buy pico PSU's from many specialist SFF sites in the UK or on a well known auction site.
Obviously fans used for cooling is far better than a totally passive design, but it all depends on the architecture that is being used. An atom can happily run passive, while something like a decent core2duo will struggle somewhat.

thanks for that Gardsmon, it's what I thought. I think even the apple mac mini has a discreet cooling fan iirc.

I suppose it's what you're looking for the rig to do, in essence I want a replacement for my desktop, and when thinking about this, I realised that all I ever have card wise is the gpu, so that's a lot of wasted space in the case and the mobo with an atx setup.

My other half however only needs to look at internerd and do emailing / wordprocessing, so literally mobo/ram and drive will be more than enough.

Digressing slightly, how does the atom processor compare in the grand scheme of things?

I'd be interested in the ITX3 if youd be selling / making any.
Looking for a small rig to replace my old desktop ;)
Wish I had access to CAD machines.
