I've had my HP LP2475W 1200p monitor for 4-5 years, it's got 5397 backlight hours! Yeesh.

It's developed this pixely red patch in the center right of the panel. It's not completely red, but more seems like every few pixels are stuck red in a uniform pattern which fades as it moves out from an epicentre in an egg shape which totals about the size of a fist.

It's most visible when the picture is black/dark. In fact white or any kind of non-dark colour and it can't be seen at all.

I'm out of warranty on this panel and don't want to replace it - aside from this issue it's perfect and serves me very well.

Panel probably needs replacing I reckon, not really an LCD expert though... most I've done is cracked a laptop screen and replaced it. :p

It's a bit weird how the red pixels are in a fixed pattern though, perhaps it could be something in the processing?
