just got a bonus from work! which is nice. and should help lower the CC bill a bit.

so...I am getting close to a new spec. the 2500+ has got to go :)
This is what I was thinking, as OCUK dont stock any mobos that will support my agp x800pro card, and give me firewire at the same time.
hence needing a new card, although not sure what the graphics performance will be.
you will notice that below there is no mobo. this is where I need help.

looking for something with firewire, and cheap :)
or failing that, can someone spec me for all the innards of a new machine, dont need case psu etcetc. got 600quid, and if possible, can use my agp x800 as well.
cheers in advance.

I thought there are quite a few motherboards that support AGP and IE1394 but OcUK seems to be stocking fewer and fewer AGP motherboards for obvious reasons however the DFI Nforce3 is one that does. The rest don't list IE1394 ports at all, you could buy an add-in card and something like the ASRock Dual-SATAII motherboard which supports both AGP and PCI-E to make an easier transition to PCI-E at some point in the future.

The X1800GTO would significantly outperform your X800pro but it might not be worth the upgrade if your current card does all you want of it :)

well i dont play a huge amount of games anymore, but eventually the card will become redundant and I will need something better.

I use the firewire for audio (m-audio firewire solo box), will an expansion card do the business?
cos then an asrock board would suit me great.
