Best one for webcams I have heard is Mercury Messenger. I really like Adium but not sure if it does webcams.

As already stated, Adium is what you should use if not using a webcam. I think aMSN allows webcams though?

aMSN hasn't been updated for quite a while.

Adium is excellent but lacks webcam support. You could always wait for 10.4.7 when iChat will supposedly do MSN.

Is iChat like a multi-client app? So like you can use your AIM or yahoo messenger username, just not msn?

It's part of iLife, have a play with it if you've got it. It currently supports .MAC and AIM.

I've managed to get MSN working in iChat by setting up my own Jabber server. It's a bit long winded and it doesn't support video chat but it was something to do ;)
