Hi there,

So I have an ancient system (as you can see from my Sig) that won't play the games I like (BF, Space sim etc) so I have decided to upgrade.

Now I don't need new monitors as I have a 27" Asus XB271H and a 27" ProLite X2783HSU.

I do need a new keyboard but I have pretty much decided which one I want so it is the main system I am in need of.

I have done the spec below but have a few questions about it:

From OCUK:
1 CA-07S-FD Fractal Design Define R6 Blackout Type-C Midi Tower Case - Black £126.95 £126.95
1 CP-3B7-AM AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Eight Core 4.4GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail £278.99 £278.99
1 AC-000-AC Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) £6.49 £6.49
1 MB-34F-MS MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 Chipset ATX Motherboard £199.99 £199.99
1 GX-19B-PC Powercolor Radeon RX 5700 XT Red Devil 8GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card *BLACK FRIDAY DEAL* £399.95 £399.95
1 MY-20B-CR Crucial Ballistix Sport LT Gray Micron E-Die 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 UDIMM £74.99 £74.99
1 HS-047-SY Scythe SCMG-5PCGH Mugen 5 "PCGH Edition" CPU Cooler £46.99 £46.99
1 CA-201-CS Corsair RMi Series RM650i 650W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply (CP-9020081-UK) £94.99 £94.99
1 SW-173-MS Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit DVD - OEM (MS-FQC-08929) £149.99 £149.99
TOTAL £1379.33

From Elsewhere:
Sabrent Rocket 1TB NvME - £109.99

Now is the PSU ok for that motherboard as a parts picker site said that it only had one 4-pin ATX power connector but the motherboard needed 2?

And the case comes with 3 fans, would you advise to get more and if so how many more?

And is this an ok spec, is there anything I could improve? Thanks for helping.

It looks good other than the motherboard but it's still okay for an 8 or 12 core. Just gets beat out by the competition and didn't fare well in 16 core testing. More importantly perhaps, it doesn't come with mid-board USB Type C for your Define R6.

Pretty sure that PSU comes with a 4+4 pin CPU power connector, so that's fine as you only need to fill 1 x 8-pin header and the other header is just for extreme overclocking, LN2 etc. The SuperFlower Leadex III 650W is one of the few 650W PSUs that bring dual 4+4 pin. Usually they start bringing them at 750W or higher. Phanteks AMP 650 Gold has dual as well, and comes with a 10 year warranty like the Corsair RMi.

Think the Corsair RMi 650 has gone up in price since you made your list(?) so you may want to consider the Phanteks AMP.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £97.49 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Thanks for the responses.

Danny75, thanks for the info about the motherboard. Can you recommend a motherboard that would support the Type C connection on the case?

orbitalwalsh, sorry not sure what Aorus your talking about, is it the graphics card?

Take it you need Wifi as well.

MSI X570 Unify
Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Ultra
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro Wifi (if you can find the Wifi version this side of the Atlantic)
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite (and add a Wifi card, might be cheapest option)
