But I can only seem to download mp4 or flv files and neither seem to work in PP.
Find something that will convert the mp4/flv into something Power Point can use?
thats the other route I've tried, can't find anything that doesnt look dodge!
I too am interested in this!!
post the link, i'll grab it and convert it to what format you need.
I was going to recommend either vixy.net or their vixy beta download, but their site appears down.
In the end I just used the developer tab in PP and whacked in a WMP object and pointed the URL to the mp4 file on my desktop. It worked
You couldn't any chance convert the videos on this website could you?
My mother would be eternally grateful, email in trust
Right click > save link as (or whatever it is in your browser) on this:
edit: wait, there's loads of them there , right click > save as on all of these:
then play them in VLC .
But it needs to be playable in PP?
Oh, I thought that when you said it was for your Mother it wasn't going to go into powerpoint.
You can try something like HandBrake to convert them to MP4 or whatever Powerpoint will read; save the originals though as converting them will butcher the quality.
I tried converting them in handbrake but they don't export properly.
Anybody know which formats work with PP?
Have you tried the youtube downloader? and saving it as Mov / AVI?
•flv (Flash) :
◦Flash is not natively supported, but can be accomplished with the aid of directions from Macromedia
•mov (QuickTime) :
◦Supported up to version 3 on Windows
◦Subsequent versions not supported on Windows
◦All versions supported on OS X
◦MPEG1 is supported
◦MPEG2 is supported on Vista only and may require a 3rd party plugin on XP or OS X
◦Not Supported on OS X or Windows
◦Supported on Windows
◦Supported on OS X with the Flip4Mac codec
converted, upped and link emailed to trust addy.
(did them to avi - let me know if there's any probs)
Did you send them to david niblo at googlemail dot com ?
I checked the spam folder too and can't find anything!
Is vixy.net the best for this kind of thing? I infrequently need to download a YouTube video and I can never remember the last service I used and waste time looking for it again. I'll commit this to memory if it is.
The best way to DL YouTube viedo
Nope, sent it to a hotmail address! But i have resent using the addy in your post.
look at vdownloader. Works brilliantly for everything i have used it for in the past
VLC looks to be able to convert video files. Check out Media > Convert. It's near the bottom of the list.
