Upgrading from a P4 3.0 Dell8300 - 850XTPE to........

Option 1

Bad Axe 2
E6600
Geil 6400
200GB Seagate HD
520w Corsair PSU

Rough price around £690.00

Option 2

P5B - Deluxe
E6300
Crucial 10th Anniversary RAM
320GB Seagate HD
620w Corsair PSU

Rough price around £630.00

This will be coupled up with the following

8800GTX or R600 (unless it's going to be March)
Tuniq 120

I already have Raptor,X-fi,Case and Drives

Will be mostly used for Gaming and Browsing.

Just needing a gentle push in the right direction.

Never dabbled in overclocking and its only my 2nd ever build so it need to be
a stable board and easy (ish) to overclock.

Any input / suggestions would be greatly appretiated.

PS If you feel Option 1 and 2 are both pants feel free to come up with
Option 3

Cheers :)

Both the options you have listed are very good, nice parts though i would incline to go for option one mainly because it might last you slightly longer.

Though i would change that motherboard, because you could get a 975x chipset for quite a bit cheaper, thats pretty expensive.

Though i am going for this motherboard myself for the e6600 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-180-AS

roughly the same price but i beilive it over clocks slightly better.

And with either option i would go for the 620 PSU simply for the furture.

And i would personally go for the 8800gtx NOW unless you have to save up to get it.

In them circumstances you could wait for the R600 to come out and see how if fairs to the 8800 GTX

Personally I'd go for option 2 definately, that mobo and RAM should allow the E6300 to OC well above 3Ghz then couple that with 8800GTX you have a ninja rig there.

If you can't wait then no doubt get the 8800GTX otherwise get a cheap 7900GS /1950pro until DX10 hardwares become popular.
