Ive had a setup running for the past 8+ Months with the following:
1x D-link DSL-2740B
2x Netgear GS608
2x Netgear GS605
The First GS608 is connected up to the D-link 2740B and the other GS608 + GS605 (Both on Fairly Long cat5e going upstairs and into the office which have all ports occupied on both) this has been working absolutely perfectly upon till last night when the first GS608's second port which is the second GS608 is constantly flashing which is normally indicating traffic flowing. Since this has started im getting awful network speeds (Between 9 - 18KB/s absolute max) so I have disconnected everything other than the two GS608's to ensure no device or PC was sending the data and the link lights are still flashing constantly which is completely crippling the network.
I have removed the first GS608 from the network and replaced it with another GS605 which was unused and the network is now running perfectly again but obviously im without 3 ports.
My Question is, do we think that the first GS608 has simply developed a fault or is there an incompatibilty issue that has just arisen?
