new 2006 model sony stereo

I am looking for a new sony stereo under £100 including delivery etc. It MUST have a remote output on the back so i can use it with my renault megane steering controls and dash display.

Do you think this looks alright:

I was a little concerned with the drop from 4x50w to 4x17RMS. Not knowing too much about these things, is that a normal drop?

4x50w as listed by most stereos is the max output not the true RMS output which would be around 17w so nothing to worry about there.

If I were you, I would look for a better second hand unit or at least one made by Pioneer or Alpine. Sony stereos aren't great, especially their lower end ones.

4x50W MAX is a meaningless number invented to selll the stereo, the 4x17W RMS is the real figure and I would have thought that will be fine. Obviously if you want to listen to your car stereo from your bedroom it's not enough ansd you'll need seperate amps

Sony only become *good* when you spend upwards of around £400 on a headunit. Otherwise stick with the best Pioneer or Alpine

I have the CDX-GT300, the one up from that, can be had for 99.99 now from some places, do a search. Generally a lot better than that.
