hi, I need a new monitor for uni. Currently, Overclockers are building me a new system to replace my current one still running 4gb of ddr2 lol.

looking for a 32" 2k ips with the possible pic in pic feature to connect my surface pro too.

The ones I have seen so far are linked below. My budget is around £200-350ish.

hope someone can guide me on this as it seems to be a minefield of monitors out there.

thank you

What GPU are you going to have? Will you be gaming much on the system? Yes to the latter, and you have an AMD GPU, you'll want Freesync monitor. If Nvidia GPU, you'll want G-Sync monitor.

Look at his budget and wants a 1440p, no chance. Some cheapo 60hz/75hz will have to be it, that AOC is perfect.

Quite, especially with 32" IPS as his goal. I would inquire as to his needs and intention for the system, and GPU choice to go along with that. If gaming is the sole purpose, IPS is certainly nice but not essential. He might be better off with an AMD GPU on a budget also, as that does open up far better monitor choices within his budget.

He doesn't state what his budget is, but I always stand firm by saying that a significant percentage should be allocated to monitor selection, given it is where your experience resides (and specific use case taken in to account). That and audio of course, but there is no need to spend so much to get a good result there. I've never understood those who spend an absolute fortune on GPU, CPU, RAM etc. then cheap out on a monitor as though it's an afterthought... just makes no sense.
