Intel are launching a new NUC, the Ghost Canyon. Link here (note: Chinese, but Google Translate works). For me the important thing is that the thing has a PCIe x16 slot. Intel have taken the fold-over idea of cases like the Dan A4 and run with it. In the article the NUC is paired with a short GPU, but I could easily see that being replaced with a full-length GPU and the CPU on the motherboard being a full-whack one and the extra space being used for an AIO cooler while still keeping the whole system tiny.

The CPU is soldered on and is a laptop series. I doubt that board can anywhere near handle a desktop CPU. Definitely scope for a graphics upgrade though, although it might need external power. Just needs cooling taking care of which is doable.
And? There's no reason why the soldered-on CPU shouldn't be a 9900K. Remember that the size of the CPU is much smaller than the size of the socket.
