Quoted from Fred Miranda, because I'm too lazy to make my own desciption.

I reckon the 85mm f1.4 looks good, awaiting prices, hopefully it'll sit about the same price as the Sigma 50mm f1.4.

The 8-16mm sounds erm, interesting. Probably to wild for most of us. Still all sounds fun.

It'll be interesting to see the 70-200mm. I wonder how that'll perform and again I wonder where it'll priced too.

The 50-500mm includes OS. Something many wanted in the original.

I guess the 17-50mm is out there to rival the 17-50 VC.

Note the fact the 50-500mm is no longer listed as EX? The 8-16 and 17-50mm aren't EX either. Interesting.

Some interesting lenses there. Link to french Sigma site: NEW LENSES.

You can also find the specs and MTF charts on the site.

EDIT: More detailed information on DPReview, under the news heading.

It also appears they have launched 'FLD' glass. i.e they claim to have glass with properties of flourite, minus the flourite price tag!?! If what they claim is true (unfortunatley I'm doubtful) we should see some super sharp lens' coming from sigma sometime soon.

Crikey the 'Bigma II' has a 95mm filter thread

It also seems like dpreview have an English version of the french specs and a bit more info.

I wonder how heavy the 85mm lens is. It says TBC

The 85mm sounds very interesting, a FL that Sigma has yet to try IIRC (and one that I want along with the 30mm f1.4).

For your information, the plural for "lens" is "lenses", not " lens' ". :)

A Sigma rep said EX was to be reserved for fast glass on future lenses, so the moniker is being phased out of slower (but still premium) lenses.

The funny thing is I often swap between them for some reason?!

Even funnier is the fact I used to have the phrase 'IT's LENSES NOT LENS!!' in my old sig on other forums!:D
